Generosity and Kindness Rewarded

SUMMARY: The Prophet Muhammad (PBUH) taught that it is important to be generous and kind, even if it means sharing the reward with someone else.

Narrated: 'Umair, the freed slave of commanded me to cut up some meat, then a poor man came so I gave him some. When my master fund out about that, he beat me, so I went to the Messenger of Allah and he came to him and said: 'Do not beat him'. He said: 'He gave away my food without me telling him to'. He said: 'The reward will be shared between you both"'.

QUICK LESSONS:
Be generous with your time , money or resources , even if it means sharing what you have with others .

EXPLANATIONS:
This hadith tells us about the importance of generosity and kindness. It was narrated by 'Umair ibn Wahb al-Jushami who was a freed slave. He was commanded by his master to cut up some meat when a poor man came so he gave him some of the meat without asking for permission from his master first. His master became angry and beat him for this but when he went to the Prophet Muhammad ﷺ for help, he told his master not to beat him as there would be a reward shared between them both for being generous and kind. This teaches us that we should always strive to be generous with our time, money or resources even if it means sharing what we have with others as Allah will reward us in return. We should also remember that kindness is always rewarded no matter how small an act may seem at first glance.
