The Consequences of Not Giving

SUMMARY: This hadith is about the consequences of not giving to those who ask for help from you.

Bahz bin Hakim narrated from his father that his grandfather said: "No man comes to his Mawla and asks him for something from the surplus of what he has, and he withholds it from him, but on the Day of Resurrection a bald-headed Shuja'a 1 will be called to him and will be licking the surplus that he withheld".

QUICK LESSONS:
Give away your extra wealth when asked by those in need without hesitation.

EXPLANATIONS:
This hadith speaks about generosity and charity. It tells us that if someone asks us for help, we should give them whatever we can spare without hesitation. If we do not give them what they need, then on the Day of Judgment a bald-headed creature called Shuja’a will come to us and lick away all our extra wealth as punishment. This hadith teaches us that it is important to be generous with our wealth in order to please Allah SWT. We should always remember that whatever wealth or possessions we have are given by Allah SWT so it is important for us to share it with others who are in need.
