Sunan an-Nasai 3458 (Book 27, Hadith 70) #18070
Keeping Away From Temptation

SUMMARY: A man declared Zihar to his wife, then had intercourse with her before he had offered the expiation. The Prophet asked him why he did that and the man said he saw her anklets or calves in the light of the moon. The Prophet told him to keep away from her until he has done what Allah commanded.

It was narrated that 'Ikrimah said: "A man declared Zihar to his wife, then had intercourse with her before he had offered the expiation. He mentioned that to the Prophet. The Prophet said to him: 'What made you do that?' He said: 'May Allah have mercy on you, O Messenger of Allah. I saw her anklets, or her calves, in the light of the moon'. The Messenger of Allah said: 'Keep away from her until you have done that which Allah, the Mighty and Sublime, has commanded'."

QUICK LESSONS:
Follow Commands Of Allah Almighty Even When It Is Hard For Us To Do So .

EXPLANATIONS:
This Hadith is about a man who declared Zihar to his wife, which is when a husband says something that implies that his wife is like his mother, and then has intercourse with her before offering expiation for it. When this was brought to the attention of Prophet Muhammad ﷺ, He asked him why he did it and the man said that he saw her anklets or calves in the moonlight which tempted him. The Prophet ﷺ told him to stay away from her until he offers expiation for what happened as commanded by Allah Almighty. This Hadith teaches us about self-control and staying away from temptation even if we are faced with it directly as Allah Almighty knows best what is good for us and will reward us if we follow His commands even when it's hard for us.
