The Blessing of Being Protected from Evil Advisers

SUMMARY: The Prophet Muhammad (PBUH) has said that every prophet and leader has two groups of advisers, one that encourages good deeds and another that encourages evil. Whoever is protected from the latter group is truly blessed.

It was narrated that Abu Ayyub said; "I heard the Messenger of Allah say: 'No prophet has eve been sent, nor has there been any Khalifah after him, but he has two groups of advisers, a group that tells him to do good and a group that tells him to do evil. Whoever is protected from the evil group, then he is indeed protected.

Those who are able to protect themselves from the latter group are truly blessed. This hadith serves as a reminder for us to be mindful when seeking advice or guidance in our lives; we should always strive to seek out those who will encourage us to do good rather than bad.
