Taking from Husband's Wealth with Reason

SUMMARY: The Prophet Muhammad (SAW) advised a woman to take from her husband's wealth in order to provide for herself and her child.

It was narrated that 'Aishah said: "Hind came to the Messenger of Allah SAW and said : 'O Messenger of Allah, Abu Sufyan is a stingy man who does not spend enough on my child and I. Can I take from his wealth without him realizing?' He said: 'Take what is sufficient for you and your child on a reasonable basis'."

EXPLANATIONS:
In this hadith, the Prophet Muhammad (SAW) is advising a woman named Hind on how to handle her husband's stinginess. Hind was concerned that her husband, Abu Sufyan, was not providing enough money for herself and her child. The Prophet Muhammad (SAW) told Hind that she could take from Abu Sufyan's wealth as long as it was done on a reasonable basis. This hadith teaches us the importance of providing for our families and taking care of our loved ones even if it means taking from our own resources or those of our spouse. It also emphasizes the importance of being reasonable when doing so; we should not take more than what is necessary or appropriate in any given situation.
