EXPLANATIONS:
This hadith teaches us to seek refuge in Allah from all kinds of evils. It was narrated by Shakal bin Humaid that he came to Prophet Muhammad [SAW] and asked him for words by which he could seek refuge in Allah. The Prophet [SAW] then taught him a dua or supplication which includes seeking protection from five different types of evils - hearing, seeing, tongue, heart and sperm. Hearing refers to listening to bad words or gossip; Seeing refers to looking at things that are not permissible; Tongue refers to speaking bad words or backbiting; Heart refers to having bad intentions; Sperm refers to committing sins related to sexual desires. We should always remember this dua and recite it regularly so that we can be protected against all these evils.
