Equating Debt with Kufr

SUMMARY: Seeking refuge with Allah from Kufr and debt is equal.

It was narrated from Abu Sa'eed that: The Prophet SAW said: "A'udhu billahi minal-kufri wad-dain. (I seek refuge with Allah from Kufr and debt)" A man said: "Are you equating debt with Kufr?" He said: "Yes".

QUICK LESSONS:
Seek help from Allah through prayer & supplication ; Be mindful of ones actions & decisions ; Ask for forgiveness if one finds themselves in either situation ; Stay away from both kufr & debt .

EXPLANATIONS:
The Prophet Muhammad [SAW] taught us to seek refuge in Allah from both disbelief and debt. A man asked if the two were equal, and the Prophet [SAW] said yes. This hadith teaches us that we should be careful not to fall into either of these two things, as they are both serious matters that can have a negative impact on our lives. We should strive to stay away from them by seeking help from Allah through prayer and supplication, as well as by being mindful of our actions and avoiding anything that could lead us into either one of these situations. We should also remember that it is never too late to ask for forgiveness if we do find ourselves in either situation, as Allah is always willing to forgive those who sincerely repent for their mistakes.
