The Purity of a Muslim

SUMMARY: A Muslim is not considered to be defiled.

Hudhaifah reported : The prophet visited him and inclined towards him (for shaking hand). He said : I am sexually defiled. The prophet replied : A muslim is not defiled.
حَدَّثَنَا مُسَدَّدٌ، حَدَّثَنَا يَحْيَى، عَنْ مِسْعَرٍ، عَنْ وَاصِلٍ، عَنْ أَبِي وَائِلٍ، عَنْ حُذَيْفَةَ، أَنَّ النَّبِيَّ لَقِيَهُ فَأَهْوَى إِلَيْهِ فَقَالَ إِنِّي جُنُبٌ ‏.‏ فَقَالَ ‏ "‏ إِنَّ الْمُسْلِمَ لاَ يَنْجُسُ

This hadith speaks to the purity of a Muslim, regardless of any external circumstances. It was reported by Hudhaifah that the Prophet visited him and inclined towards him for shaking hands, but Hudhaifah said he was sexually defiled. The Prophet replied that a Muslim is not considered to be defiled. This hadith teaches us that no matter what situation we find ourselves in, our faith as Muslims will always keep us pure and untainted.
