Seeking Refuge in Allah

SUMMARY: This hadith is about seeking refuge in Allah from the punishment of Hell, the punishment of the grave, trails of Al-Masihid-Dajjal, and trials of life and death.

'Abd Allah b. 'Abbas said: The Messenger of Allah used to teach us this supplication as he taught us the surah from the Qur'an. He would say: O Allah! I seek refuge in You from the punishment of Hell and I seek refuge in You from the punishment of the grave, and I seek refuge from You from the trails of Al-Masihid-Dajjal, and I seek refuge in You from the trials of life and death.

QUICK LESSONS:
Seek help through prayer when faced with difficulty; trust God during hard times; rely on Him for protection against harm or evil forces trying to lead you astray .

EXPLANATIONS:
This hadith teaches us to seek refuge in Allah from various difficulties that we may face in our lives. The Prophet Muhammad ﷺ taught his companions a supplication to recite when they were faced with difficult times or situations. He taught them to say “O Allah! I seek refuge in You from the punishment of Hell and I seek refuge in You from the punishment of the grave, and I seek refuge from You from the trails of Al-Masihid-Dajjal, and I seek refuge in You from the trials of life and death”. By reciting this supplication we are asking for protection against all kinds of harm that may come our way such as being punished by God for our sins or facing difficult tests throughout our lives such as sickness or poverty. We are also asking for protection against any evil forces that may try to lead us astray such as Dajjal who is an evil figure mentioned in Islamic teachings who will try to deceive people into following him instead of God's path. By reciting this supplication we can ask for God's help so that He can protect us against all these things so that we can live a peaceful life on earth before returning back to Him one day after death.
