Obligatory Circumambulation and Noon Prayer at Mina

SUMMARY: The Prophet (ﷺ) performed the obligatory circumambulation and offered the noon prayer at Mina.

Narrated Ibn 'Umar: The Prophet performed the obligatory circumambulation (Tawaf al-Ziyarah) on the day of the sacrifice ; he then offered the noon prayer at Mina when he returned.
حَدَّثَنَا أَحْمَدُ بْنُ حَنْبَلٍ، حَدَّثَنَا عَبْدُ الرَّزَّاقِ، أَخْبَرَنَا عُبَيْدُ اللَّهِ، عَنْ نَافِعٍ، عَنِ ابْنِ عُمَرَ، أَنَّ النَّبِيَّ أَفَاضَ يَوْمَ النَّحْرِ ثُمَّ صَلَّى الظُّهْرَ بِمِنًى يَعْنِي رَاجِعًا

EXPLANATIONS:
This hadith is about the Prophet Muhammad's practice of performing an obligatory circumambulation and offering a noon prayer at Mina. The circumambulation is known as Tawaf al-Ziyarah which is a ritual that involves walking around the Kaaba seven times in an anti-clockwise direction. It is usually done during Hajj or Umrah pilgrimages to Mecca. The noon prayer or Zuhr Salah is one of five daily prayers that Muslims are required to perform each day. In this hadith, it was performed by the Prophet Muhammad at a place called Mina which is located near Mecca in Saudi Arabia. This hadith teaches us that we should follow in the footsteps of our beloved Prophet Muhammad by performing our religious obligations with dedication and sincerity.
