QUICK LESSONS:
Be flexible with religious practices; Put trust in Allah SWT; Obey Allah's commands
EXPLANATIONS:
This hadith is about how Prophet Muhammad ﷺ postponed circumambulation on the day of sacrifice till the night. Circumambulation or Tawaf is a ritual performed by Muslims around Kaaba in Mecca during Hajj and Umrah. It is an act of worship that involves walking around Kaaba seven times in an anti-clockwise direction. On the day of sacrifice, which is also known as Eid al-Adha, Muslims are required to perform this ritual after sacrificing animals as a sign of obedience to Allah SWT and His commands. However, according to this hadith narrated by Aisha and Abdullah Ibn Abbas, Prophet Muhammad ﷺ postponed this ritual until night time instead of performing it during daytime as usual. This teaches us that we should be flexible with our religious practices when needed and not be rigid in our approach towards them. We should also remember that Allah SWT knows best what’s best for us and He will always guide us towards what’s right for us if we put our trust in Him completely.
