EXPLANATIONS:
This hadith is about the prohibition of consuming alcohol, which is known in Arabic as khamr. In this hadith, Tariq ibn Suwayd or Suwayd ibn Tariq asked the Prophet about drinking wine and he forbade it. When asked again if it could be used as a medicine, the Prophet said no because it is a disease. This hadith teaches us that we should not consume alcohol even if someone suggests that there are benefits to doing so because ultimately, alcohol can cause harm and lead to diseases. We should also take care not to use any substances which may have negative effects on our health and wellbeing.
