This hadith is about a man from Bani Sahm who died in a land where there was no Muslim. When his companions returned with his property, they claimed that they had lost a silver bowl with gold engraving. Allah's Messenger then made them take an oath to confirm their claim, and eventually it was found that two witnesses from the deceased's relatives were more valid than those of 'Adi and Tamim. As a result, this verse was revealed in connection with this case; “O you who believe! When death approaches any of you”(5:106).
