The Dream of the Followers Fighting for Allah

SUMMARY: Allah's Messenger (ﷺ) had a dream in which he saw some of his followers as kings on thrones, fighting in Allah's cause. Umm Haram asked him to invoke Allah that she be one of them and he did so.

Narrated Anas bin Malik: Allah's Messenger used to visit Umm Haram bint Milhan, who would offer him meals. Umm Haram was the wife of Ubada bin As-Samit. Allah's Messenger , once visited her and she provided him with food and started looking for lice in his head. Then Allah's Messenger slept, and afterwards woke up smiling. Umm Haram asked, "What causes you to smile, O Allah's Messenger ?" He said".Some of my followers who (in a dream) were presented before me as fighters in Allah's cause (on board a ship) amidst this sea caused me to smile; they were as kings on the thrones (or like kings on the thrones)". (Ishaq, a sub-narrator is not sure as to which expression the Prophet used) Umm Haram said, "O Allah's Messenger ! Invoke Allah that he makes me one of them. Allah's Messenger invoked Allah for her and slept again and woke up smiling. Once again Umm Haram asked, "What makes you smile, O Allah's Messenger ?" He replied, "Some of my followers were presented to me as fighters in Allah's Cause," repeating the same dream. Umm Haram said, "O Allah's Messenger ! Invoke Allah that He makes me one of them". He said, "You are amongst the first ones". It happened that she sailed on the sea during the Caliphate of Mu'awiya bin Abi Sufyan, and after she disembarked, she fell down from her riding animal and died.

QUICK LESSONS:
Strive to fight for the cause of God with utmost dedication and sincerity . Ask blessings from beloved prophet whenever possible .

EXPLANATIONS:
This hadith is about Prophet Muhammad ﷺ having a vision in which he saw some of his followers as kings on thrones, fighting in the cause of God. Umm Haram, who was the wife of Ubada bin As-Samit, offered food to Prophet Muhammad ﷺ and while combing through his hair looking for lice, he fell asleep and woke up smiling. When asked what made him smile, Prophet Muhammad ﷺ told her about his vision. Umm Haram then asked him to invoke God that she be one among them and Prophet Muhammad ﷺ did so. Later on during the Caliphate of Mu'awiya bin Abi Sufyan she sailed on a sea voyage but unfortunately died after disembarking from her riding animal. This hadith teaches us that we should strive to fight for the cause of God with utmost dedication and sincerity just like how these followers were presented before Prophet Muhammad ﷺ as fighters in His cause amidst this sea like kings on thrones; it also teaches us that we should always ask for blessings from our beloved prophet whenever we can because it is through his prayers that our wishes will come true if they are good ones!
