Be honest in your dealings with others and keep your promises even if you don't want to do so at first.

This hadith explains how the verse of Surat Al-Ahzab was found and authenticated. It is narrated by Kharija bin Zaid that Zaid bin Thabit said that when the Quran was compiled from various written manuscripts one of the verses of Surat Al-Ahzab was missing which he used to hear Allah's Messenger reciting. He could not find it except with Khuza’ima bin Thabit Al-Ansari whose witness Allah's Messenger regarded as equal to two men. The verse is “Among the believers are men who have been true to what they covenanted with Allah” (33:23). This hadith shows us how important it is for Muslims to authenticate their sources and be sure that they are reliable before accepting them as truth. It also teaches us about being honest in our dealings with others and keeping our promises even if we don't want to do so at first.
