Jami at-Tirmidhi 3159 (Book 47, Hadith 211) #28808
Passing Over The Fire Based On Deeds

SUMMARY: This hadith explains that people will pass over the Fire based on their deeds, with the speed of passing over it increasing depending on how good their deeds were.

Narrated As-Suddi: "I asked Murrah Al-Hamdani about the saying of Allah, Mighty and Sublime is He: There is not one of you but will pass over it (19:71). So he narrated to me that 'Abdullah bin Mas'ud narrated to him saying: 'The Messenger of Allah said: "The people will pass over the Fire, then they avert it based upon their deeds. The first of them (would pass over it) like a flash of lightening, then like the wind, then like a fleeing horse, then like a rider fleeing on a mount, then like a man fleeing, then like one walking".

QUICK LESSONS:
Do good deeds and strive for righteousness; be mindful of your actions and words; seek reward from Allah; prepare for judgement day .

EXPLANATIONS:
This hadith explains that when people are judged by Allah, they will pass over a fire based on their deeds. Depending on how good or bad their deeds were, they will pass over it at different speeds. For example, if someone has done many good deeds in life then they would pass over the fire like a flash of lightning. However, if someone has done many bad things in life then they would have to walk slowly across it. This hadith teaches us that we should always strive to do good things in our lives so that we can be rewarded for them later on. It also reminds us to be mindful of our actions and words as these can have an effect on our future judgement day.
