Jami at-Tirmidhi 3161 (Book 47, Hadith 213) #28810
The Love and Hate of Allah

SUMMARY: Allah loves and hates people based on their faith and deeds.

Narrated Abu Hurairah: that the Messenger of Allah said: "When Allah loves a slave He calls Jibra'il, (saying): 'Indeed I love so-and-so, so love him'." He said: "So he calls out in the heavens. Then love for him descends among the people of the earth. That is as in the saying of Allah: Verily, those who believe and work deeds of righteousness, the Most Gracious will grant love for them (19:96). And when Allah hates a slave He calls out to Jibra'il, (saying): 'Indeed I hate so-and-so'. So he calls out in the heavens. Then hatred for him descends upon the earth'."

QUICK LESSONS:
Have faith in Allah; Do good deeds; Strive to please Allah; Avoid bad actions .

EXPLANATIONS:
This hadith explains that Allah loves those who have faith in Him and do good deeds. He also hates those who do not believe in Him or do bad deeds. This is mentioned in the Quran as well, where it says that those who believe and work righteousness will be loved by Allah. On the other hand, when someone does something wrong or does not believe in God, then God will hate them. This hadith teaches us to always strive to please God by having faith in Him and doing good deeds so that we can be loved by Him. It also reminds us to stay away from bad actions so that we can avoid His wrath.
