Appreciation for Neighbors

SUMMARY: The Prophet Muhammad saw some girls playing and singing a song about him, to which he responded with a statement of appreciation.

It was narrated from Anas bin Malik: that the Prophet passed by some part of Al-Madinah and saw some girls beating their Daff And singing, saying: "We are girls from Banu Najjar what an excellent neighbor is Muhammad". The Prophet said: "Allah knows that you are dear to me".
حَدَّثَنَا هِشَامُ بْنُ عَمَّارٍ، حَدَّثَنَا عِيسَى بْنُ يُونُسَ، حَدَّثَنَا عَوْفٌ، عَنْ ثُمَامَةَ بْنِ عَبْدِ اللَّهِ، عَنْ أَنَسِ بْنِ مَالِكٍ، أَنَّ النَّبِيَّ ـ ـ مَرَّ بِبَعْضِ الْمَدِينَةِ فَإِذَا هُوَ بِجَوَارٍ يَضْرِبْنَ بِدُفِّهِنَّ وَيَتَغَنَّيْنَ وَيَقُلْنَ نَحْنُ جَوَارٍ مِنْ بَنِي النَّجَّارِ يَا حَبَّذَا مُحَمَّدٌ مِنْ جَارِ ‏.‏ فَقَالَ النَّبِيُّ ـ ـ ‏ "‏ يَعْلَمُ اللَّهُ إِنِّي لأُحِبُّكُنَّ

This hadith is about the Prophet Muhammad's appreciation for his neighbors. He was walking through Al Madinah when he heard some girls singing a song about him. The song praised him as an excellent neighbor and in response the Prophet said "Allah knows that you are dear to me." This hadith teaches us that we should appreciate our neighbors and show them kindness. It also shows us how much the Prophet valued his relationships with those around him and how important it is to be kind to others. We can learn from this hadith that we should always be respectful of our neighbors no matter who they are or where they come from.
