This hadith discusses a situation in which a slave divorces his wife twice and then they are both freed. Ibn Abbas was asked if this couple could marry again and he said yes. He based this judgement on what the Messenger of Allah (PBUH) had previously decided in such cases. This hadith teaches us that even though slaves have limited rights compared to free people, they still have certain rights when it comes to marriage and divorce. It also shows us that we should always seek guidance from religious scholars when making decisions regarding marriage or divorce as these matters are very important in Islam.
