The Prophet's Oath of Forgiveness

SUMMARY: The Prophet Muhammad (peace be upon him) used to swear by saying "No, and I ask Allah for forgiveness".

It was narrated that Abu Hurairah said: "The swearing of the Messenger of Allah was: 'No, and I ask Allah for forgiveness"'.
حَدَّثَنَا أَبُو بَكْرِ بْنُ أَبِي شَيْبَةَ، حَدَّثَنَا حَمَّادُ بْنُ خَالِدٍ، ح وَحَدَّثَنَا يَعْقُوبُ بْنُ حُمَيْدِ بْنِ كَاسِبٍ، حَدَّثَنَا مَعْنُ بْنُ عِيسَى، جَمِيعًا عَنْ مُحَمَّدِ بْنِ هِلاَلٍ، عَنْ أَبِيهِ، عَنْ أَبِي هُرَيْرَةَ، قَالَ كَانَتْ يَمِينُ رَسُولِ اللَّهِ ـ ـ ‏ "‏ لاَ وَأَسْتَغْفِرُ اللَّهَ

EXPLANATIONS:
This hadith is about the oath that the Prophet Muhammad used to take. It was narrated by Abu Hurairah that the Messenger of Allah would say “No, and I ask Allah for forgiveness” when he swore. This shows us how important it is to seek forgiveness from God when we make mistakes or do something wrong. It also teaches us that we should not swear or use bad language as this is not pleasing in the eyes of God. Instead, we should strive to speak kindly and politely at all times. Furthermore, this hadith reminds us that even if we make a mistake or do something wrong, it is never too late to seek repentance from God and He will always forgive us if we sincerely repent for our sins.
