QUICK LESSONS:
Take only lawful oathes in the Name of Allah alone .

EXPLANATIONS:
This hadith is about the prohibition of taking oaths by one's forefathers. It was narrated that the Prophet Muhammad heard Umar swearing by his father and he said "Allah forbids you from making oaths by your forefather". This shows us that it is not permissible to take an oath in the name of our ancestors or anyone else other than Allah. We should only swear in the name of Allah and no one else as this is a sign of respect for Him and His commands. Furthermore, this hadith also teaches us to be mindful of our words and actions as we are accountable for them before Allah on the Day of Judgment.
