Sunan Ibn Majah 2354 (Book 13, Hadith 47) #31706
Business Ethics for All

SUMMARY: The Prophet ﷺ advised a man with mental disabilities to engage in business, but to be honest and not cheat.

It was narrated from Anas bin Malik that : there was a man at the time of the Messenger of Allah whose mental faculties were lacking, and he used to buy and sell. His family came to the Prophet and said, "O Messenger of Allah, stop him". So The Prophet called him, and told him not to do that. He said: "O Messenger of Allah , I cannot bear to be away from business". He said, "If you engage in a transaction then say: "Take it (ie, the goods) and don't cheat (me)'. "

EXPLANATIONS:
This hadith is about the importance of being honest in business dealings. It was narrated from Anas bin Malik that there was a man at the time of the Prophet Muhammad whose mental faculties were lacking, and he used to buy and sell. His family came to the Prophet and asked him to stop him from engaging in business activities. However, instead of stopping him, The Prophet advised him that if he engages in a transaction then he should say "Take it and don't cheat me". This hadith teaches us that honesty is important even when engaging in business activities. It also shows us that everyone should be given an opportunity regardless of their mental capabilities or disabilities. We can learn from this hadith that we should always strive for fairness when dealing with others, especially when it comes to money matters. We must also remember not to take advantage of those who are less fortunate than us or who may have difficulty understanding certain concepts due to their disability or lack of knowledge.
