The Simple Lifestyle of the Prophet Muhammad (PBUH)

SUMMARY: The Prophet Muhammad (PBUH) was known for his simple lifestyle and did not indulge in luxuries.

It was narrated that Anas bin Malik said: "No leftovers of roast meat* were ever cleared from in front of the Messenger of Allah , and no carpet was ever carried with him".
حَدَّثَنَا جُبَارَةُ بْنُ الْمُغَلِّسِ، حَدَّثَنَا كَثِيرُ بْنُ سُلَيْمٍ، عَنْ أَنَسِ بْنِ مَالِكٍ، قَالَ مَا رُفِعَ مِنْ بَيْنِ يَدَىْ رَسُولِ اللَّهِ ـ ـ فَضْلُ شِوَاءٍ قَطُّ وَلاَ حُمِلَتْ مَعَهُ طِنْفِسَةٌ ـ

EXPLANATIONS:
This hadith speaks to the simple lifestyle of the Prophet Muhammad (PBUH). It is narrated that Anas bin Malik said that no leftovers of roast meat were ever cleared from in front of the Messenger of Allah, and no carpet was ever carried with him. This shows us that he did not indulge in luxuries or extravagance, but instead lived a life of simplicity and moderation. He taught us to be content with what we have and to not seek out more than we need.
