The Blessing of Hospitality

SUMMARY: Frequent guests bring more blessings to a house than a knife brings to a camel's hump.

It was narrated from Anas bin Malik that the Messenger of Allah (SAW) said: "Goodness comes more quickly to a house where there are frequent guests than a knife to camel’s hump".
حَدَّثَنَا جُبَارَةُ بْنُ الْمُغَلِّسِ، حَدَّثَنَا كَثِيرُ بْنُ سُلَيْمٍ، عَنْ أَنَسِ بْنِ مَالِكٍ، قَالَ قَالَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ ـ ـ ‏ "‏ الْخَيْرُ أَسْرَعُ إِلَى الْبَيْتِ الَّذِي يُغْشَى مِنَ الشَّفْرَةِ إِلَى سَنَامِ الْبَعِيرِ

EXPLANATIONS:
This hadith is about the importance of hospitality and how it can bring blessings into one's home. The Prophet Muhammad ﷺ said that having frequent guests in one's home is better than having a knife on the hump of a camel. This means that hospitality brings more blessings than any material item could ever bring. It teaches us that we should be generous with our hospitality and welcome people into our homes, as this will bring us closer to Allah SWT and increase our rewards in the hereafter. Furthermore, it encourages us to be kind and generous towards others, as this will result in greater rewards for ourselves.
