The Reward for Restraining Anger

SUMMARY: Restraining anger when it is possible will be rewarded by Allah on the Day of Resurrection.

It was narrated from Sahl bin Mu’adh bin Anas, from his father, that the Messenger of Allah said: "Whoever restrains his anger when he is able to implement it, Allah will call him before all of creation on the Day of Resurrection, and will give him his choice of any houri that he wants".
حَدَّثَنَا حَرْمَلَةُ بْنُ يَحْيَى، حَدَّثَنَا عَبْدُ اللَّهِ بْنُ وَهْبٍ، حَدَّثَنِي سَعِيدُ بْنُ أَبِي أَيُّوبَ، عَنْ أَبِي مَرْحُومٍ، عَنْ سَهْلِ بْنِ مُعَاذِ بْنِ أَنَسٍ، عَنْ أَبِيهِ، أَنَّ رَسُولَ اللَّهِ ـ ـ قَالَ ‏ "‏ مَنْ كَظَمَ غَيْظًا وَهُوَ قَادِرٌ عَلَى أَنْ يُنْفِذَهُ دَعَاهُ اللَّهُ عَلَى رُءُوسِ الْخَلاَئِقِ يَوْمَ الْقِيَامَةِ حَتَّى يُخَيِّرَهُ فِي أَىِّ الْحُورِ شَاءَ

EXPLANATIONS:
This hadith speaks about the importance and reward for restraining one's anger. It was narrated by Sahl bin Muadh bin Anas from his father that the Messenger of Allah said that whoever can restrain their anger when they are able to implement it, Allah will call them before all creation on the Day of Resurrection and give them their choice from any houri they want as a reward. This hadith teaches us how important it is to control our emotions and not let our anger get out of hand. It also shows us how great a reward we can receive if we are successful in doing so. We should strive to always keep our emotions in check so that we may be rewarded with such a great gift from Allah on the Day of Judgment.
