The Soft Palm and Pleasant Smell of the Prophet (ﷺ)

SUMMARY: The Prophet (ﷺ) had a very soft palm and a pleasant smell.

Narrated Anas: I have never touched silk or Dibaj (ie thick silk) softer than the palm of the Prophet nor have I smelt a perfume nicer than the sweat of the Prophet.

QUICK LESSONS:
Be kind and gentle with others regardless of differences between them .

EXPLANATIONS:
Anas ibn Malik reported that he never touched silk or thick silk softer than the palm of the Prophet ﷺ, nor did he ever smell a nicer perfume than the sweat of the Prophet ﷺ. This hadith highlights how gentle and kind-hearted the prophet was, as his physical touch was so soft that it felt like touching silk or thick silk. Additionally, his sweat had such an amazing scent that it was better than any perfume. These qualities are just some of many which made him such an exemplary leader for Muslims to follow in their lives. He taught us to be kind and gentle with others, no matter what our differences may be. We should strive to emulate these qualities in our own lives so we can become better people ourselves.
