Washing a Dead Body According to Islamic Rites

SUMMARY: The Prophet (ﷺ) instructed us to begin washing the dead body of his daughter Zainab (May Allah be pleased with her) from the right side and from the parts that are washed in Wudu'.

Umm 'Atiyyah (May Allah be pleased with her) reported: The Prophet instructed us at the time of washing the dead body of his daughter Zainab (May Allah be pleased with her) to begin with her right side, and from the parts that are washed in Wudu'. Al-Bukhari and Muslim.
وعن أم عطية رضي الله عنها أن النبي ى الله عليه وسلم ، قال لهن في غسل ابنته زينب رضي الله عنها ‏:‏ ‏ "‏ابدأن بميامنها ومواضع الوضوء منها‏"‏ ‏(‏‏(‏متفق عليه‏)‏‏)‏

EXPLANATIONS:
According to this hadith, when it comes to washing a dead body according to Islamic rites, one should start by washing the right side of the body. This is followed by washing those parts which are washed during wudu. Wudu is an important part of Muslim prayer and involves washing certain parts of one's body such as hands, face and feet. It is important for Muslims to follow these instructions when performing funeral rites for their loved ones as it was taught by Prophet Muhammad (ﷺ). This hadith also teaches us about respecting our deceased loved ones and following proper rituals while performing their funeral rites.
