EXPLANATIONS:
This hadith from the Prophet Muhammad ﷺ teaches us that performing an `Umrah during the month of Ramadan is equal in reward to a pilgrimage or Hajj with him. An `Umrah is a pilgrimage to Mecca which can be done at any time of year but it has special significance when done during the holy month of Ramadan. It involves circumambulating around the Ka'bah seven times and then walking between Safa and Marwah seven times. A Hajj on the other hand is a much more involved process which includes many rituals such as standing at Arafah and throwing stones at Jamarat al-Aqabah among others. Both are acts of worship that bring great rewards from Allah SWT for those who perform them sincerely with faith in Him alone.

The Prophet ﷺ taught us through this hadith that although an `Umrah may not involve all the same rituals as a full Hajj, it still carries great reward if done during Ramadan due to its spiritual significance in this blessed month. We should strive to make use of this opportunity by performing an `Umrah if we are able to do so safely and securely while following all necessary precautions against Covid-19 pandemic.
