The Blessing of Knowledge

SUMMARY: The world and its contents are cursed, except for the remembrance of Allah, which pleases Him, and religious scholars and seekers of knowledge.

Abu Hurairah (May Allah be pleased with him) reported: The Messenger of Allah said, "The world, with all that it contains, is accursed except for the remembrance of Allah that which pleases Allah; and the religious scholars and seekers of knowledge". At- Tirmidhi.
وعنه قال‏:‏ سمعت رسول الله يقول‏:‏ ‏"‏الدنيا ملعونة ملعون ما فيها إلا ذكر الله تعالى، وما والاه، وعالمًا أو متعلمًا‏"‏ ‏(‏‏(‏رواه الترمذي وقال‏:‏ حديث حسن‏.‏

EXPLANATIONS:
This hadith is about the importance of knowledge in Islam. It teaches us that although the world is accursed, there are two things that can bring blessings to it; remembrance of Allah and seeking knowledge. By remembering Allah we can please Him and by seeking knowledge we can gain wisdom from religious scholars who have dedicated their lives to learning about Islam. This hadith also encourages us to pursue knowledge as a way to better understand our faith and become closer to God. It reminds us that even though worldly possessions may be fleeting, true wisdom will last forever.
