Remembering Allah and Worshiping Him

SUMMARY: The Prophet Muhammad (peace be upon him) advised Mu'adh to always remember Allah and worship Him in the best way.

Mu'adh (May Allah be pleased with him) reported: The Messenger of Allah took hold of my hand and said, "O Mu'adh! By Allah I love you, so I advise you to never forget to recite after every prayer: "Allahumma a'inni ala dhikrika, wa shukrika, wa husni 'ibadatika (O Allah, help me remember You, to be grateful to You, and to worship You in an excellent manner)". Abu Dawud.
وعن معاذ رضي الله عنه أن رسول الله أخذ بيده وقال‏:‏ ‏"‏يا معاذ والله إني لأحبك‏"‏ فقال‏:‏ ‏"‏أوصيك يا معاذ لا تدعن في دبر كل صلاة تقول‏:‏ اللهم أعني على ذكرك، وشكرك، وحسن عبادتك‏"‏‏.‏ رواه أبو داود بإسناد صحيح‏.‏

EXPLANATIONS:
This hadith is about the importance of remembering Allah and worshipping Him in an excellent manner. The Prophet Muhammad took hold of Mu'adh's hand and told him that he loves him, then advised him to never forget to recite after every prayer "Allahumma a'inni ala dhikrika, wa shukrika, wa husni 'ibadatika" which translates to "O Allah! Help me remember You; be grateful to You; and worship You in an excellent manner". This hadith teaches us that we should always remember Allah by reciting His name or reading Quran or doing any other form of remembrance. We should also show gratitude for all the blessings He has bestowed upon us by thanking Him for them. Lastly we should strive to worship Him in the best way possible by following His commands with sincerity.
