EXPLANATIONS:
This hadith is about seeking refuge in Allah from the evils of our hearing, seeing, tongue, heart and passions. The Prophet Muhammad ﷺ taught us a prayer to recite when we want to seek refuge in Allah. He said “Say ‘Allahumma inni a'udhu bika min sharri sam'i wa min sharri basari wa min sharri lisani wa min sharri qalbi wa min sharri maniyyi’” which translates to “O Allah! I seek refuge in You from the evils of my hearing, the evils of my seeing, the evils of my tongue; the evils of my heart and the evils of passions”. We should recite this prayer whenever we feel like we are being tempted by something that is not good for us or if we feel like our faith is being tested. By reciting this prayer we can ask for protection from any evil that may come our way and ask for guidance on how to stay away from it.
