The Dangers of Excessive Talk

SUMMARY: Excessive talking without the Remembrance of Allah hardens the heart and distances one from Allah.

Ibn 'Umar (May Allah be pleased with them) reported: The Messenger of Allah said, "Do not indulge in excessive talk except when remembering Allah. Excessive talking without the Remembrance of Allah hardens the heart; and those who are the farthest from Allah are those whose hearts are hard". At-Tirmidhi

QUICK LESSONS:
Remembering God in all aspects of life .

EXPLANATIONS:
This hadith warns us against excessive talk, which is defined as talking too much or too long about something that is not related to remembering God. It teaches us that when we talk excessively, it can lead to our hearts becoming hardened and distant from God. This means that our hearts become less sensitive to spiritual matters and more focused on worldly matters. We should strive to remember God in all aspects of our lives, including in our conversations with others. When we do this, it will help keep our hearts soft and close to Him.
