Taking from Husband's Possessions on Reasonable Basis

SUMMARY: The Prophet (ﷺ) advised Hind, the wife of Abu Sufyan, to take from her husband's possessions on a reasonable basis that much which may suffice for her and her children.

'Aishah (May Allah be pleased with her) said: Hind, the wife of Abu Sufyan, said to the Prophet : Abu Sufyan is a niggardly man and does not give me and my children adequate provisions for maintenance unless I take something from his possession without his knowledge. The Prophet said to her, "Take from his possessions on a reasonable basis that much which may suffice for you and your children". Al-Bukhari and Muslim.

EXPLANATIONS:
This hadith is about the Prophet Muhammad's advice to Hind bint Abi Sufyan, who was married to Abu Sufyan. She complained that he was not providing enough provisions for her and her children. The Prophet advised her to take from his possessions on a reasonable basis that much which may suffice for them both. This hadith teaches us the importance of providing for our families and taking care of their needs in a reasonable manner. It also shows us how important it is to be generous with our family members even if we are not able to provide them with all their needs or desires. We should strive to provide them with what they need in order to live comfortably without taking away too much from our own resources or possessions.
