Kindness and Mercy Towards Animals

SUMMARY: The Prophet Muhammad (peace be upon him) taught us to be kind and merciful to animals, even if they are not our own.

'Imran bin Husain (May Allah be pleased with him) said: We were with the Messenger of Allah on a journey and there was a woman from the Ansar riding a she-camel. She abused and invoked curse upon it. The Messenger of Allah heard it and said, "Off load the she- camel and set it free because it has been cursed". Muslim.

QUICK LESSONS:
Show kindness towards animals at all times .

EXPLANATIONS:
This hadith is about the importance of being kind and merciful towards animals, even if they are not our own. It was narrated by 'Imran bin Husain who said that he was with the Prophet Muhammad on a journey when a woman from the Ansar was riding a she-camel. She cursed it out of frustration, but the Prophet heard her and told her to unload it and set it free because it had been cursed. This teaches us that we should always show kindness towards animals, no matter how frustrated or angry we may be with them. We should never take out our anger on them or mistreat them in any way because this is against Islamic teachings. We should also remember that Allah has given us dominion over animals so we must use this power responsibly by treating them kindly and showing mercy towards them at all times.
