The Rewards of Judgement

SUMMARY: A judge will be rewarded for using their judgement, even if they make a mistake.

'Amr bin 'Al-'As (May Allah be pleased with him) said: I heard the Messenger of Allah saying, "When a judge utilizes his skill of judgement and comes to a right decision, he will have a double reward, but when he uses his judgement and commits a mistake, he will have a single reward". Al-Bukhari and Muslim

EXPLANATIONS:
This hadith speaks to the importance of judgement and decision-making. It teaches us that when a judge uses their skill of judgement and comes to the right decision, they will receive double reward from Allah. Even if the judge makes a mistake in their judgement, they will still receive single reward from Allah for using their skill of judgement. This hadith encourages judges to use their best efforts in making decisions as it is an act that is pleasing to Allah and can result in rewards. It also serves as an encouragement for people who are not judges but have to make decisions in life, such as parents or teachers, reminding them that even if they make mistakes while making decisions, it is still an act that can be rewarded by Allah.
