The Equivalence of Charity and Jihad

SUMMARY: Helping the widows and the poor is equivalent to fighting in the way of Allah.

Abu Hurairah (May Allah be pleased with him) reported: The Prophet said, "One who strives to help the widows and the poor is like the one who fights in the way of Allah". The narrator said: I think that he added also: "I shall regard him as the one who stands up (for prayer) without rest and as the one who observes fasts continuously". Al-Bukhari and Muslim.

QUICK LESSONS:
Helping those who are less fortunate than ourselves
EXPLANATIONS:
This hadith by Prophet Muhammad ﷺ teaches us that helping those in need, such as widows and the poor, is equal to fighting in the way of Allah. It encourages us to strive for good deeds, such as charity and kindness towards others. The Prophet ﷺ also said that he would regard those who help others as if they are constantly praying or fasting without rest. This shows how important it is for us to help those who are less fortunate than ourselves. We should always strive to do our best for others, no matter how small our efforts may seem.
