Obtaining Permission from Husband

SUMMARY: A woman should not observe voluntary fasting without her husband's permission when he is at home, and she should not allow anyone to enter his house without his permission.

Abu Hurairah (May Allah be pleased with him) reported: Messenger of Allah said, "It is not lawful for a woman to observe (voluntary) fasting without the permission of her husband when he is at home; and she should not allow anyone to enter his house without his permission". Al-Bukhari and Muslim.
وعن أبي هريرة رضي الله عنه أيضًا أن رسول الله قال؛ ‏ "‏ لا يحل لامرأة أن تصوم وزوجها شاهد إلا بإذنه، ولا تأذن في بيته إلا بإذنه‏"‏ ‏(‏‏(‏متفق عليه وهذا لفظ البخاري‏)‏‏)‏‏.‏
