Kindness towards Relatives

SUMMARY: The Prophet Muhammad (peace be upon him) advised Muslims to treat the people of Egypt kindly when they conquer it, as they are related to them.

Abu Dharr (May Allah be pleased with him) reported: Messenger of Allah said, "You will soon conquer a land where people deal with Qirat". And according to another version: Messenger of Allah said, "You will soon conquer Egypt where Al-Qirat is frequently mentioned. So when you conquer it, treat its inhabitants well. For there lies upon you the responsibility because of blood ties or relationship (with them)". Muslim.

EXPLANATIONS:
The hadith narrated by Abu Dharr speaks about the importance of kindness and compassion towards relatives. It is reported that the Prophet Muhammad (peace be upon him) said that when Muslims conquer a land where people deal with Qirat, they should treat its inhabitants well because of their blood ties or relationship with them. This hadith teaches us that even in times of war and conquest, we should still show kindness and respect to our relatives. We should not forget our familial bonds even if we are in a situation where we have power over others. This hadith also reminds us that all humans are related in some way or another and so we must always strive for peace and harmony between all peoples regardless of their differences.
