The Kindness of Allah

SUMMARY: Allah is more kind to his slaves than a mother is to her child.

'Umar bin Al-Khattab (May Allah be pleased with him) reported: Some prisoners were brought to Messenger of Allah amongst whom there was a woman who was running (searching for her child). When she saw a child among the captives, she took hold of it, pressed it against her belly and gave it a suck. Messenger of Allah said, "Do you think this woman would ever throw her child in fire?" We said, "By Allah, she would never throw the child in fire". Thereupon Messenger of Allah said, "Allah is more kind to his slave than this woman is to her child". Al-Bukhari and Muslim.

QUICK LESSONS:
Show mercy & compassion towards others
EXPLANATIONS:
This hadith speaks of the immense kindness and compassion that Allah has for His slaves. It was narrated by Umar bin Al-Khattab, who reported that some prisoners were brought to the Messenger of Allah, amongst whom there was a woman searching for her child. When she saw a child among the captives, she took hold of it, pressed it against her belly and gave it a suck. The Prophet asked if anyone thought this woman would ever throw her child in fire? Everyone answered no, as they knew how much love and care she had for her own child. The Prophet then said that “Allah is more kind to His slave than this woman is to her child”. This hadith teaches us about the mercy and kindness of our Creator towards us; He loves us even more than we love ourselves or our children! We should always remember this when we are feeling down or discouraged; knowing that our Lord loves us so much can be very comforting indeed! Furthermore, this hadith also serves as an example for parents on how they should treat their children with love and compassion - just like how Allah treats His slaves with mercy and kindness!
