Prohibition of Intoxicating Drinks

SUMMARY: All drinks that cause intoxication are prohibited.

Narrated 'Aisha: Allah's Messenger was asked about Al-Bit a liquor prepared from honey which the Yemenites used to drink. Allah's Messenger said, "All drinks that intoxicate are unlawful (to drink)".
حَدَّثَنَا أَبُو الْيَمَانِ، أَخْبَرَنَا شُعَيْبٌ، عَنِ الزُّهْرِيِّ، قَالَ أَخْبَرَنِي أَبُو سَلَمَةَ بْنُ عَبْدِ الرَّحْمَنِ، أَنَّ عَائِشَةَ ـ رضى الله عنها ـ قَالَتْ سُئِلَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ عَنِ الْبِتْعِ وَهْوَ نَبِيذُ الْعَسَلِ، وَكَانَ أَهْلُ الْيَمَنِ يَشْرَبُونَهُ، فَقَالَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ ‏ "‏ كُلُّ شَرَابٍ أَسْكَرَ فَهْوَ حَرَامٌ

EXPLANATIONS:
This hadith is narrated by Aisha and it talks about the prohibition of intoxicating drinks. Allah's Messenger was asked about Al-Bit which is a type of liquor prepared from honey and consumed by the Yemenites. He replied that all drinks that cause intoxication are unlawful to drink. This hadith teaches us that we should stay away from any kind of intoxicants as they are forbidden in Islam and can lead to many negative consequences such as addiction or even death in some cases. We should also be aware of our surroundings and not let anyone around us consume such substances either directly or indirectly. The Prophet Muhammad has set an example for us to follow when it comes to avoiding intoxicants and we should strive to do the same in our lives too.
