Sahih al-Bukhari 6321 (Book 80, Hadith 18) #6072
Invoking Allah at Night

SUMMARY: Allah descends to the heavens every night and asks if anyone needs anything from Him.

Narrated Abu Huraira: Allah's Messenger said, "When it is the last third of the night, our Lord, the Blessed, the Superior, descends every night to the heaven of the world and says, 'Is there anyone who invokes Me (demand anything from Me), that I may respond to his invocation; Is there anyone who asks Me for something that I may give (it to) him; Is there anyone who asks My forgiveness that I may forgive him?' "

QUICK LESSONS:
Make du’as during this time and ask for forgiveness so that we can be blessed with His mercy
EXPLANATIONS:
This hadith speaks of the immense mercy of Allah, as He descends to the heavens every night and asks if anyone needs anything from Him. He is willing to respond to any invocation, give whatever is asked for, and forgive whoever seeks His forgiveness. This shows us how merciful our Lord is, that He gives us a chance each night to ask for whatever we need or want. It also teaches us that we should take advantage of this opportunity by making du’as during this time and asking for forgiveness so that we can be blessed with His mercy.
