Consequences of Associating Anything With Allah

SUMMARY: The hadith is about the consequences of associating anything with Allah, and that those who do not associate anything with Allah will enter Paradise.

It is narrated on the authority of Abdullah b. Mas'ud that Waki told (him) that the Messenger of Allah had observed and Ibn Numair asserted: I heard the Messenger of Allah saying: He who dies associating anything with Allah would enter the Fire (of Hell)'.Abdullah b. Mas'ud said: I say that he who died without associating anything with Allah entered Paradise.
حَدَّثَنَا مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ عَبْدِ اللَّهِ بْنِ نُمَيْرٍ، حَدَّثَنَا أَبِي وَوَكِيعٌ، عَنِ الأَعْمَشِ، عَنْ شَقِيقٍ، عَنْ عَبْدِ اللَّهِ، قَالَ وَكِيعٌ قَالَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ وَقَالَ ابْنُ نُمَيْرٍ سَمِعْتُ رَسُولَ اللَّهِ يَقُولُ ‏ "‏ مَنْ مَاتَ يُشْرِكُ بِاللَّهِ شَيْئًا دَخَلَ النَّارَ ‏"‏ ‏.‏ وَقُلْتُ أَنَا وَمَنْ مَاتَ لاَ يُشْرِكُ بِاللَّهِ شَيْئًا دَخَلَ الْجَنَّةَ

EXPLANATIONS:
This hadith speaks to the importance of belief in God and avoiding any form of unbelief or association with Him. It is narrated on the authority of Abdullah b. Mas'ud that Waki told him that the Messenger of Allah said “He who dies associating anything with Allah would enter the Fire” meaning those who die while believing in something other than God will be sent to hellfire. Abdullah b. Mas'ud then added “I say that he who died without associating anything with Allah entered Paradise” meaning those who die without believing in something other than God will be sent to paradise instead. This hadith teaches us how important it is to believe only in one God and avoid any form of association or disbelief as it can have serious consequences for our afterlife.
