The main difference is the time and required rituals for each. Hajj occurs at a specific period of the year, while Umrah can be performed at any given time. As for the rituals, they both require Ihram, Tawaf, Sai and Shaving the head for men. For Hajj stopping at Arafat and stoning of the devil are added requirements.
