Question 3289: Assalamualaikum. I need some clarification on a concept which is very new to us in India. Perhaps you can help us analyse the legitimacy of this system. I intend to become a distributor of Amway Corporation which is into Network Marketing/Direct Selling, a system where you market or consume the products of the company and get points for the turnover on a monthly basis which translate into commissions for you. At the same time you build a network of distributors and your points increse with the increased consumption / marketing of the goods, and with this strategy, your commission increases. I wanted to confirm that is this system of operation Halal? Since Amway Corp. is operating in USA since the past 39 years, you might have a better understanding of the concept than Islamic Scholars in India.
