Question 2067: What is the significance of Rukn-e-Yamany, the stone on the KABA? Why do people kiss this stone along with Aswad

Dear Br. M .As-salaamu alaykum. The Kaaba has four Rukn (or corners). They are: 1-The Black Corner (Rukn al-Aswad) where the black stone is, 2-The Yemeni Corner (Rukn al-Yamani), 3-The Shami Corner (Damascus), and 4-The Iraqi Corner. The first two corners (Black and Yemeni) are commonly known as the Yamanyyan (the two Yemenis) and the last two corners are known as the Shamiyyan (the two Shami). The first two were built on the pillars of prophet Ibrahim (peace be upon him) while the other two were not. The Black corner has two values: 1-it contains the black stone and 2-it is built on the pillars of prophet Ibrahim (peace be upon him) , as to the Yemeni Corner, it has one value which is the fact that it was built on the pillar of prophet Ibrahim (peace be upon him). As to the other two corners, they dont have any specific value. Thank you for asking and God knows best. (Source: IslamiCity) Classified in Kabah > Yemeni Corner (Rukn al-Yamani)
