All perfect praise be to Allaah, The Lord of the Worlds. I testify that there is none worthy of worship except Allaah, and that Muhammad (saw) is His slave and Messenger. It is permissible for you to keep this piece but you should avoid committing any innovation with it, like seeking blessings from it and the like. Even in case of the Kabah itself, it is only permissible to kiss or touch from it what a religious text stated that it is permissible to kiss or touch, this applies to things other than Kabah with greater reason.An-Nawawi said: "Maqaam Ibraaheem should not be kissed or touched, as this is an innovation.", this is stated by Dr. Naasir Al-Jedee in his book entitled "At-Tabarruk: its kinds and rulings". Dr. Jedee said in the conclusion: "Among the newly invented matters is to seek blessings from the Kiswah of [the clothing that covers] the Kabah, like kissing it or touching it in any manner, as nothing of this is permitted and no one among the righteous predecessors has ever done this."Allaah Knows best.
