carries significant meaning for Muslims. It is the month that Prophet Muhammad (pbuh) was born and it is the month when he returned to Allah (swt). It is also the month of the Prophet’s hijrah from Mecca to Medina.
There are no duties to fast, pray or make dua during this month but it is during Rabi’-ul-Awwal that we must remind ourselves to hold Prophet Muhammad (pbuh) in highest regards and feel close to him now and the rest of the year.
To become closer to the Prophet, read and recite the Quran and remind yourself of the lessons he taught.
Practice kindness, gratitude, generosity, and patience as the Prophet did.
Build good habits. Do good and help the poor, sick, frail, and hungry.
May Allah (SWT) help us to carry on the work of the Prophet Muhammad (pbuh) all year long and may the lessons of Rabi’-ul-Awwal be with us always. Ameen!
