Non invasive Vegal nerve stimulation

Electro convulsive therapy (ECT) dumps energy into the subjects brain ARGUABLY releasing naturally occurring anti convulsants. It takes the view that depression is a long term seizure. Then there is vagal nerve stimulation. A coil is surgically implanted in the neck on the vagal nerve and triggers energy into the vagal nerve every few minutes-the result?
