Bro 18Bash, if you realise, the question of the topic is more of doctrinal issue in Islam and not about personal choices etc. It is under this perspective, that all arguments have been presented to show clearly that Islam do permit Muslims to marry the women from the "people of the book". I also recognise the difficulties in these marriages, that you are alluding to, but then its a totally a different case, and we are not arguing about it.

In reality i fail to grasp the essence of the whole hulabaloo about mixed marriages as regards religion. To be factual, what purpose does it serve to have two people of different faiths trying to live together in conjugal harmony when the essence of their whole being is premised upon ABSOLUTELY different religious dictates. Except of course either or both of them are the so called " Liberal Muslim or Xtian". There is no way and i mean NO WAY a Muslim who clings fully to the dictates of the Quran and the Sunnah of the Prophet (SAW) can be succesfully married to a modern day practising Pentecostal Xtian or even an Orthodox one without persistent conflicts in their daily living. Whether we want to acknowledge this fact or not, its just like the issue of divorce which Islam allows under certain circumstances.Even though Allah said of all things he has permitted... divorce is the one he most dislike. Now to the so called non-Abrahamic religions, can we ask an Hindu or a Buddhist if they would equally allow their daughter to also marry a Xtian or a MUslim... i guess the answer is NO. People even go the extent of discouraging inter-racial marraiges even within the same faith not to talk of inter-faith. To Israfil... we do not have to be an apologist to the point of trying to modify what Allah has prohibited or made lawful for us. If Allah says DO NOT marry polytheist then marry polytheist we must not. Allahu Aahlam. |

human, I just think it is routine sectarianism really and not my business. I only posted on it originally because it was getting a bit insulting (not consciously) toward many women. |

Tim, I am in total agreement with you on this one. The barriers that exist to marriage between any two peoples is an artificial one, created by humans. Human |
