By the way, at least in this thread I have consistently objectively proven many of the points you put forth in support of your views, wrong. And you certainly did not post in this thread to "get me see the reality". |

Do you know what my concern is - Alot of people find it easier to blame western culture for their own lack of self control. Its probably a test of your own self restraint as to how you would deal with certain situations. You simply CANNOT blame an entire culture for everything - sure western culture is more loose and there are fewer inhibitions - But just cos someone else does something does not mean you need to.

I hope so. My mother didn't work outside, yet, we got the best of education and upbringing that was possible here. My grandmother didn't work outside (although, my grandfather was not very rich), still my father and his four brothers suceeded because of their hard work and abilities. None of my relatives, who are women, work outside. I think I have a good chance that my family won't suffer, if my wife doesn't work outside.
We interpret reality differently. You believe that West is infallible and can never be wrong and there is no good way of living other than the Western way of life. I believe nothing is infallible except Allah and time has come for the West to go (that is, it will soon lose its dominance) and if it doesn't go by itself, it will be kicked out. You cannot look through my point of view unless, you accept what I think of the West. Only one of us is right. Perhaps, only time can tell for sure, who is right. Edited by candor |

men and women behavior patterns are dictated by society. in america there is so much political correctness and game playing that it drives most people nuts. Also, our american culture is schizophrenic in that it condems the very behavior that it takes part it. For example, there are outcrys against porn shops but then you catch the local ministers or others buying stuff there, they walk out with head sunk low and they keep doing it. I think most cultures are way too uptight about sex and love, often confusing the two. When it gets to the point of asking a girl out for coffee means to her that you want to engage in kinky sex there's a problem with the culture and the womans mind. Likewise, when a woman touches a guy it doesn't mean she wants sex. I could lecture for hours on this but I won't |

If Muslim women work outside within the ambit of Islam I won't oppose it. But I won't encourage it either, because although it is not legal, it is near to the boundary between good and evil (according to Islam). According to Islam, there are certain restrictions concerning interaction betweeen men and women. These restrictions are likely to be violated if women work outside.

I work, i enjoy my job and my independance , I think at this moment in time i would find it extremely hard to quit my job and sit at home. But none of this means i neglect my religious duties or my child and Husband. In this day at age 2 incomes are needed to have a good standard of life. And nobody is being "imported" - how ignorant. Fewer ppl wish to work the hours for the wage now given to doctors, the opportunity is being given to ppl in poorer countries - but no-one is being forced to come and work over here. To be very honest with you, Men in this day and age have it easier, not many ppl actually do hard labour anymore - life is alot easier - Its actually women who take care of the family, house and still work, that have it harder. Candor - Your actual problem is that you assume women that work for no valid reason are neglecting religious duties - explain to me PROPERLY why both can't be done.

You can verify it through any Indian you know, those who work in farms in India are poor. And some of the women who are not poor, are so silly they consider it beneath them to even touch implements used by peasants.
And our perceptions of poverty are different. There is 1 millionaire out of every 30 Americans. In India the ratio is as low as 1:15000. People in India will laugh if you say that a person who has 3 meals a day and can afford modern gadgets like radio or T.V can be poor. |
